Time To Wake Up To The Reality Of Profits Vs Wages 

Many people in the UK have bought into the lie of corporate security, thinking that their jobs will sustain them until retirement age and their pensions will sustain them there after.

The truth is, corporate security is long gone! I remember when I was growing up, if a person was a civil servant working for the government, that was literally a job life. People were used to working at the same companies for 10, 20, 30+ years. Today if somebody works at the same company for five years, that’s a long time.

People are schooled from a very early age that you go to school, you get a good education and then you get a good job with benefits. You then work the job until you are 65 and then you retire with a pension. So our whole school system is designed to create employees that are dependent on a company’s wage.

So what do people do?

They go and they put a document together called CV, which they try to sell themselves on, then they approach companies to try and convince the company that they should hire them. The company then put a figure on them, which they feel the I individual is worth, then the individual accepts that figure and then begins to trade their time for the company’s money. During this time period if they need more money,  then they have to trade more time. A lot of times because families are struggling financially, many parents have to do overtime so that they can make ends meet. However the danger of doing too much over time is that, you haven’t got any family time.

So why would people subject themselves to this type of situation?

For many people the idea of stepping out and doing something different is so fearful to them that they dismiss the very idea. To them it is just easier to accept the check at the end of every month. They feel it’s guaranteed and they can depend on it and the only time they will think differently is if there is a whiff in the air of redundancies or downsizing.

The reason why many people choose not to get involved in home base business opportunities is because of that very fear I mentioned earlier. Also with all of the social conditioning that goes on, people would rather go to work in their corporate job and get the title of Supervisor, Team leader or even Manager but still be struggling financially, rather to let anybody know they are building a home based business.

This type of pride is what keeps people broke. 98% of our population will be either dead or dead broke by the age of 65. This is all to do with mindset, what is going on in between their 2 ears.

So why are profits so much better than wages?

Well firstly profits are not limited to any specific figure, you can create as much profits as you want. Secondly when you’re building profits you are growing money not earning money. When you are growing your own money nobody can ever get rid of you, you are in control of your own destiny.
When you are growing money you have a lot more flexibility with the amount of tax you pay.

Many people cannot understand the above quote and that is why they will only ever earn a living.

So How Can You Start Making Profits?

Well you can start your own traditional brick and mortar type business, the only problem with that is while you’re building up the business, a lot of the activities needed for you to make money is going to be down to your own efforts. So even though you are working for yourself, you have literally employed yourself into another job of trading your time for money.

The other alternative is to buy a franchise, any good franchise is going to be quite costly and you have to factor in working extremely hard for the first 5 years to pay off the franchisor before you’re making any true profits.

The other way is to invest into property or shares or things like that. The only problem with that is if you have limited income already and you invest that income into something that doesn’t work out, you’ve lost everything.

Robert Kyosaki who wrote the famous book Rich Dad Poor Dad, states that true investors invest from their excess so if an investment falls over it will not affect their lifestyle.

Whatever method of creating profits you choose you need to make sure you’re either leveraging yourself through finances or leveraging yourself through people, so that you are not a single point of failure.

In Roberts book he also talks about the Cash Flow Quadrant, helping people to understand how to create wealth. On the left hand side of the quadrant is where the poor people are and on the right hand side of the quadrant is where the rich people are. Funnily enough the people on the left hand side of the quadrant are:

1. Employees
2. Small Business Owner Or Specialist

The reason why small business owners and specialists on the left hand side is because typically they have to do and know everything themselves, so even though they may be making good money, they haven’t got any time freedom. So they typically work very hard and long hours and find it hard to switch off. Normally their health is impacted because they are highly stressed.

On the right hand side of a quadrant are:

1. Big Business Owners (Organisations with over 500 people)
2. Investors

Firstly big business owners don’t need to know everything themselves, they just need to have the right people around them. Also they develop the excess income that they can then go into investments with. So now they are not working for money, they have money working for them and also people working for them.

The final strategy I want to talk to you about concerning creating profits, is one which I think is the best one for every day people who want to develop a significant income, and that is to join the home-based business industry and in particular the Network Marketing industry.

Robert Kyosaki says himself that network marketing is a B quadrant business because it is designed for you to have more than 500 people within your organisation. It is typically a low investment compared to traditional business or franchise and most people start off on a part time basis still working their jobs while they work on their business.

If a person is going to choose network marketing as a strategy to develop profits, then they have to make sure that the company is an ethical, strong one with longevity. They also have to make sure that the product or service is something that they can get passionate about and believe wholeheartedly. They have to make sure that the training and support is there and they also have two make sure that their attitude is correct. This is a business that they are going to have to work, learn some new skills, put the effort in and then reap the rewards. They have to understand that this is not some kind of get rich quick scheme.

When done properly network marketing can be extremely rewarding, when done incorrectly network marketing can be extremely frustrating.
